INDONESIAN RURAL EFL TEACHER’S STRATEGY IN TEACHING HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS

This research aims to explore the rural teacher’s strategy in teaching Higher Order Thinking Skills based on 2013 curriculum. By using qualitative approach, researchers collect data employs non-participant observation and learning process, interviewed English teacher, also documents by collecting lesson plan made one of teacher Junior High School Gaung District. The result this showed that used determining objectives with eight characteristics for curriculum, teach through questioning LOTS questions, practice before assessment but it’s not effective, provide feedback develop students’ Skills. found miss step review, refine improve because she did feedback. Based finding above, conclude has been trying do steps HOTS, development HOTS area is reach expectation
